Hazel Edith Pierre 85, of Decatur passed away at 4:49 p.m., November 9, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 6:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel Funeral Home. The family will also have a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel in Boonville, IN. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Saturday November 13, 2010 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, Boonville, IN. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Boonville, IN. Hazel was born May 14, 1925 in Boon Township, Warrick County, Indiana the daughter of William Lee and Esther (McCool) McVey. She was married to Charles Pierre. He preceded her in death in 1988. She formerly has worked as a Nurse's Aide for Visiting Nurses and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Boonville.
Surviving are her children: James R. Leslie and his wife Nancy of Georgia, Dennis E. Leslie and his wife Sheila of Harristown, IL, Lorraine Erwin and her husband Keith of Lake City, IL, Flora May Kercheval of Champaign, IL, Otto L. Leslie and his wife Cheri of Decatur, IL, Candice Smiley and her husband Dywane of Lampasas, TX and Lloyd R. Leslie of Decatur; sisters: Lois Bell of Chicago Heights, IL and Flora Dell Carmack of Lynnwood, IL. Also surviving are many loving grandchildren, loving great grandchildren and a loving great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother.
